Documents Required for Germany Visitor Visa
1. Valid Passport
- It is necessary for a passport to be valid for at least six months after the planned stay.
- Make sure that there is at least two pages left free for visa affixation.

2. Filled-up Visa Application Form
- Download the application form from the official website of the German consulate or embassy nearest to your place.
- Enter all of the required fields correctly without mistakes or even missing information.

3. The Following Photographs are meeting the visa standards:
- Two identical and coloured photo copies of each should be attached which are taken not more than two years back.
- Follow Germany’s biometric standards: no smile or frown on your face, no clothing or jewellery around your face especially around your neck and no noisy background.
- Standard size of the photo should be 35mm x 45mm.
4. Proof of Financial Means
- To demonstrate you can support yourself financially:
- Attach the latest bank statements with them for the last three months that depict your financial operations.
- If sponsored, submit a sponsorship letter that shows the sponsor’s willingness to meet all your expenses.
- If you can provide other proofs such as fixed deposit receipts or salary slips then you should attach it as well.
5. Travel Itinerary
- Write down your travel dates, places to visit and what you would be doing.
- Booking flight reservations (even if they are booking in advance is allowed).
- Include hotel reservations or an accommodation schedule of the entire period of your visit.
6. Travel Health Insurance
- Be sure to have a health insurance that is still active in the entire Schengen Area.
- Make sure the coverage amount is not less than €30,000.
- You must also ensure that your policy offers medical evacuation coverage, hospitalization as well as repatriation.
7. Proof of Accommodation
To confirm where you’ll stay:
- Include your name and the dates of your stay with copies of your hotel bookings confirmations.
- If living with a host, submit an invitation letter which should include the host’s address and your relationship with them.
- Lease agreements or Airbnb reservation confirmation are also admissible.
8. Other Supporting Papers
Depending on your circumstances, you may need:
- Proof of Employment: An employment letter from your employer indicating the position held, salary earned, and approval for the leave.
- Proof of Studies: For students, an original letter from your school, college or University confirming enrollment and dates when you are likely to be away from school.
- Cover Letter: This is a short note of who you are, where you are going, what you intend to do and your promise to be back.
