It is a beautiful city located in the southern part of Oman with a special weather condition and beautiful terrains. Unlike the rest of the Arabian Peninsula, Salalah turns into a green paradise during the Khareef season, which is spring/summer in the Indian calendar due to the monsoon. This natural occurrence provides the much needed rains that transform the area into a beautiful landscape of green hilly landscapes, meandering streams, and beautiful waterfalls all in sharp contrast to the neighboring desert.
Apart from the geographical beauty, Salalah is blessed with history and culture. It has many archeological attractions, especially the Al-Balid city that helps to explain the history of the area. Tourists can also take a walk in the colourful Al Husn Souk where the aroma of frankincense is so powerful and the locals trade in textiles, gold and silver. It is also the place of the stunning Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Al Husn Palace that is the summer residence of His Majesty. This paper has highlighted that Salalah is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in the Middle East, which should make it a top travel destination for tourists.
